Strengthening Parent Voice
Strong Schools. Strong Partnerships.
Ida has made parent engagement a priority across Humber River–Black Creek schools. Since she was first elected in 2018, every local school has established an active parent council.
By regularly attending school council meetings and working closely with principals, staff and families, Ida ensures each school community's needs and priorities are heard and addressed at the Board level.
Ida also served for several years on the Catholic Parent Involvement Committee. She was the first Ward 3 Trustee to introduce annual meetings that bring together parent councils from all 13 local schools to share ideas, receive updates on Board initiatives, and build stronger community connections.
